IKI is a private library for your iPhone. Save links, screenshots, voice notes, PDFs, Reels and Stories. IKI reads all of it on the phone, answers your questions with sources and keeps every save as a file you own.
Plenty of apps keep what you save. Some can read it, on their servers and behind their login. IKI reads it on your iPhone and hands you the files.
01 · reads everything
IKI reads articles and PDFs in full, lifts the text off screenshots and transcribes voice notes. It reads Reels, Stories and Shorts too: what’s said, what’s written on screen and whose handle is on it.
02 · sends nothing
Reading, search and answers run on the iPhone, on Apple’s on-device model. Your library isn’t stored on any server. Turn on airplane mode and everything keeps working.
03 · leaves you the files
Every save is a folder with a markdown file you can read and the original next to it. Open it in the Files app or in Obsidian, and back it up however you like. If IKI disappears, your library stays.
Three things I learned about sourdough. First, the starter needs twelve hours. Second, cold water slows it down. Third, never skip the autolyse: the flour needs an hour with the water…

In IKI every save is a markdown file plus the original, in a folder on your iPhone or in your own iCloud Drive. Nothing in the library expires.
anything goes in
Tap Share, then IKI. Links, photos, PDFs and videos, up to six at a time.
Save the video or screen-record the Story, then share it. IKI reads what’s said and what’s on screen.
Allow photo access once. New screenshots arrive with their text already read.
Record, lock the phone and keep walking. The phone transcribes it.
Dictate on Apple Watch. It lands in the library dated to the moment you said it.
Add to IKI from the toolbar. Selected text becomes a quote.
Pair Chrome or open iki.place/save. The browser encrypts what you send, and only your phone can read it.
Scan pages, add PDFs or write with Apple Pencil. All of it becomes searchable text.
Exports from Pocket, Safari, Evernote, Raindrop and mymind come in as cards and files.
Siri and Shortcuts, in English, Russian and Portuguese.
find
Type a word someone said in a reel, a line from a screenshot or a phrase you said to your watch, and IKI finds it.
ask
Answers come only from what you saved, with numbered sources that open the exact item. If nothing you saved covers the question, IKI tells you so.
recap
Recap shows how many things you saved, what they were about and the saves themselves, counted on your phone. Nothing in it expires.
radio
Radio turns this week’s summaries into a short episode and reads it aloud in a voice that runs on your phone. Lock the screen and keep walking.
the studio
Questions made from your own saves. Answer in your head, flip the card, and IKI spaces the next one so it sticks.
What your library turned out to be about, grouped by meaning instead of folders.
Your month or year in saves, as a poster sized for Stories.
Read any note to camera. Rehearse records you and shows which lines you skipped.
Subscribe to a curated shelf. New links arrive as your own files, and they stay if you unsubscribe.
One tap turns your saves into a script for camera, five hooks, a briefing or next steps.
Export any voice note or video as an .srt file, timed from the transcript.
Highlight a sentence and share it as an image credited to its source.
Share a collection as a web page. With a password, your phone encrypts it before upload. Pages can expire.
Translate any item on the device. The text stays on the phone.
Five themes, e-ink among them, and highlights that remember the exact sentence.
every screen
The same library on each. iPhone and iPad share it through your iCloud Drive, the watch keeps your recent saves, and any browser can add to it.
The whole library, plus widgets, StandBy, the Dynamic Island, Siri and iPhone search.
A sidebar, keyboard shortcuts and Apple Pencil. Handwriting turns into searchable text, and you can mark up screenshots and PDFs.
Dictate a thought or check what you saved today. Search works from the watch’s own copy, even with the phone at home.
Safari on the Mac has an Add to IKI button. Any other browser can save through iki.place/save and open an encrypted copy of your library at iki.place/library.
privacy
There’s no account, no user database, no analytics SDK and no ads. The list on the right is everything that can ever leave your phone, and each item is a switch you turn on yourself.
The easy test: airplane mode. Saving, search and Ask keep working.
made for ios 27
When the on-device model can’t handle a language, Private Cloud Compute can. It stays off until you switch it on.
For a screenshot, the model looks at the picture itself, not only the text on it, when it writes the card and answers.
Take a screenshot while IKI is open and it shows up within seconds.
Apple Pencil notes are read from the strokes themselves, not from a picture of them.
With the same switch on, Apple Watch can answer from Apple’s private cloud without the phone nearby.
After an iCloud sync or a night of catching up, iOS refreshes IKI’s entries in iPhone search by itself.

questions
In a folder on your iPhone that you can open in the Files app, or in iCloud Drive › IKI › Library if you switch sync on. Every save is a markdown file with its original next to it: the video, the audio, the screenshot or the PDF.
iPhone and iPad have the full app. Apple Watch records and dictates thoughts, shows what you saved today and searches your recent saves. Safari on the Mac saves pages with one click, and any other browser can save through iki.place/save.
Only if you switch it on. The full list is on the privacy page: Private Cloud Compute, your own Claude key, Deep Parse, the web copy, browser capture and shared pages. Each one stays off until you turn it on.
Nothing. It’s already plain files on your own device, and they open without us. When Pocket shut down in 2025, people had a few months to export a decade of saves. With IKI there’s nothing to export.
Yes. IKI reads Pocket exports (CSV and HTML), Evernote .enex files, Raindrop backups, mymind exports and your Safari Reading List. Imports run on the phone, with progress in the Dynamic Island.
English, Russian and Portuguese. The app, voice transcription and text in images all handle the three, mixed in one library.
Setup takes two minutes, and there’s nothing to organise afterwards.
